When you begin the AP class there are a few things to expect. First, this is a class for college credit and can save you on "dolla dolla billz y'all", should you decide on pursuing a higher education. My point being, this class should not be taken lightly or without effort, as this is the most valuable class this year (unless you aren't a freshman and other AP classes are available). Second, you are a smart person, but your classmates are smart too. You will have to do your best in order to maintain an "A" , unlike your previous subjects. Lastly, there will be homework regularly. Make sure you have time set aside for the work. This is a way to let high school students experience a sort-of college style work load.
